Album Review | Twenty One Pilots "Scaled And Icy" (A colorful mess)

In the new day and age of bands and artists experimenting and expanding their creativity and striving to become even more creative, there is something to be said about when that creativity get's lost in translation. As for Twenty One Pilots ; a creative musical duo who have been expanding their creative pallet for years now; they have been shifting their career with defining moments all over the map, but it begs the question as to what and why that creativity has landed us at their new record "Scaled And Icy". A record that can only be described as a wonderful and colorful mess that feels like it's lost in it's own world. When the term "colorful mess" is used don't take it as a downside as to why the record is bad or anything of the sort; it's just something that can best be described for this album and the contexts behind it. The record deals with topics that have been very prominent throughout the past couple of years as the record focuses on l

The greatness of Christcore holds no bounds to the sure amount of joy that the scene has felt over the years. If you have been around the internet for the past 10-15 years, you may have seen the name Relient K come up from time to time; whether it be from the early days of MySpace, Purevolume, and online chat rooms, to modern social tech with Facebook groups being all the rage these days in these odd times that we live in. Album Review | Convictions "I Won't Survive" (Suffering faced head on... with breakdowns)

Image
In a colossal turn of events that was the year 2020 and the turn of the millennia that would further start a whole new decade, the toll that the year brought to the table brought nothing but heartbreak, sadness, depression, anxiety, and a sense of unease that kept people on edge, people were wondering when this era of darkness would end, and while we're getting ever closer to the time that this whole year will remain a distant memory; the amount of sure suffering that the world has experienced is what the christian metalcore band Convictions try to tackle on their new ep "I Won't Survive". The sure amount of dread that one feels when listening to this ep is almost staggering given the heavily symbolic nature of the record and how it all ties together. The different allegories that are used throughout the record are stunning and the sure amount of chaos that you feel when listening to this record will both leave you in tears but also will leave you with a sense of want

Album Review | The Undertaking! "Funeral Psalms" (Solid State's newest "Southcore" band triumphs)

Image
In the growth of mainstream popularity and the sense of the "punk rock lifestyle" being dead to so many not associated with the scene the term "southcore" would seem foreign to those who are not familiar with the niche scene and genre but leave it to new comers The Undertaking! to bring both intensely driven punk rock and uber catchy southern hard rock together to create a sound that will have Every Time I Die fans clamoring to this sound in droves with their debut album "Funeral Psalms". The term "southcore" could be described as bringing the worlds of post-hardcore and hard rock together and infusing that into southern rock which will link fans to the sounds of Every Time I Die, Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster, He Is Legend, and Twelve Gauge Valentine, given the "rougher around the edges" approach that the record holds. And it shines best when all the sounds are firing on all signals and in tern making for a chaotic listening exper
