Real Friends returns


Today is a good day for pop-punk fans as the Tinley Park vets Real Friends announce their comeback seemingly out of nowhere, and almost to no fan fair. The band dropped a load of news that has fans both in shock and in excitement as the new era of Real Friends has officially begun. 

The band announced today that they have returned with new music, as well as signing to alternative label Pure Noise Records after being a part of the band's former label Fearless Records for the majority of their career. As well as announcing the band's new vocalist being Cody Murano formerly of Youth Fountain fame would be taking the vocal ranks after former and longtime vocalist Dan Lambton ultimately left in 2020, due to struggles with mental and physical health.

Amongst this news, was the announcement of new music which also dropped today those of which being the double single "Nervous Wreck / Storyteller" signaling not just a new era full of potential, but a new slightly shifted stylistic direction more inclined with acts such as Knuckle Puck, Youth Fountain, Homesafe, as the music takes on more of an "alternative" direction but also still staying true to their core roots.

This news while out of nowhere is exciting, and fans should get excited because the band is back and are ready to tackle this new era head on as they reflect on their past and move on into the future; as they enter this new era with new music, as well as returning to the stage as they gear up for the Pure Noise Records Tour with the likes of State Champs, Four Year Strong, Just Friends, and Bearings.

If you have ever been a fan of this band in the past then now is the time to get excited and show your overwhelming support, and if you have never been a fan of them in the past and this new era intrigues you, then back and discover what you have been missing out on this whole time. "When the world came to a stop last year, we made the choice amidst the uncertainty that we'd use the time to figure out what the next chapter of Real Friends would be. Cody joined the band in the Spring of 2020, and ever since then we've been constantly writing, recording, refining, and planning for this day. It honestly feels like a dream to share this with all of you. Words cannot express what we're truly feeling right now. Thank you for being a part of this.

With that being said, give a very warm welcome to our vocalist- Cody Murano. He is like a brother to us. We're so grateful to officially call him a member of the band.

This is a new era, but the spirit of Real Friends is still very much the same as it's always been. We want our songs to help you. We want our songs to make you feel less alone, or at least a little more understood. I'm happy to say that we're just getting started.
